FIELD REQUIRED [on a vehicle with an Out of State title]

Typically occurs when there is a CA record for a vehicle being processed in a Transfer Out of State.
Pre-Existing Record
: This can occur in an out of state transfer if the vehicle that has been in CA before, and it has a pre-existing record. This will need to be processed via SPU.

: This may be an existing Goldenrod. Confirm and if there is an Out of State title and CA plates/registration and switch to a Transfer in State. Check the box for 'Existing Goldenrod' to clear. Please note: Goldenrods are non-transferrable, and an out of state title MUST be surrendered to clear a Goldenrod.

FIELD REQUIRED (sale_exempt_code, odometer, veh_fuel_type, etc.)

Typically occurs when a specific field has not been completed or has been completed incorrectly.
Verify all required information has been entered accurately
.

1. Ensure the correct Class is selected (IE Auto vs Commercial, PTI vs Trailer Regular).
2. Ensure an Odometer reading has been entered.
3. If it is requiring a Fuel Type in a transaction type which does not have that field, the record will need to be corrected via SPU.
4. Check the field listed in parentheses. If it occurs for fields that are inaccessible in the transaction type being used, the record will need to be corrected via SPU.

FIELD REQUIRED (veh_year_first_sold)

Typically occurs when processing a SPCNS or when there is a record error on file.

Specially Constructed Vehicle (SPCNS)
: The error will include (veh_year_first_sold), an unavailable field in a Transfer In State. SPCNS are on the list of BPAs prohibited transactions and need to be processed by the DMV. Common SPCNS are certain kit vehicles, modified motorcycles, and private-individual-built PTI.

Record Error
: This can occur when something on the record has been keyed incorrectly causing the system to request fields that would normally not be needed for vehicles with California records. This will have to be processed via SPU.

Un-Revived Salvage or Junk
