When I open my GL Posting file, it looks scrambled and doesn’t open in Excel. How do I get it to open properly?

The PC is trying to open the XML file using Internet Explorer. You must tell the computer what program to use to open files that end in .XML.

To do this, save the file to the computer, navigate to where the file was saved, right click on the file and select Open With. Then, find Excel or the equivalent program of Excel, and select Always Open Files of This Type with Excel. You can now proceed to open the file. If you can’t get it to open with Excel, select the program Office XML Handler.

NOTE: If you can’t find Excel in the program list, search for Excel and make note of the path where it exists, i.e C:/programfiles/Microsoft/Office16
