How to modify fees in Reynolds & Reynolds
Reynolds Overview – Reynolds’ default fee calculations are generated from in its “Back screen formulas” and can only be adjusted through a Reynolds employee. Usually they request a language from CA DMV to make any fee calculation updates. However, there are several areas that the dealer can assist in the calculation accuracy.
- Stock in New and Used Inventory with accurate information
- Update County Fees
- Flag Hard-Adds or taxable aftermarket accessories to be included in the License Fee calculation
- Manually update fees in a deal when necessary
Stocking in Inventory
- Review the information entered on the Vehicle > ERA tab, and complete omitted DMV fields, such as Body Type, Weight, Fuel Type, and License Information.
**Note** A manager can quickly view the omitted inventory information on the Taxes and Fees page
- From the Retail Worksheet click the Total Fees box
*Make sure both County and City are on the Retail worksheet and taxes/fees page
- Update missing information and enter “Y” to Auto Calc registration fees
Updating County Fees – Blue Screen
- Enter executable 4881 from the F&I Main Menu.
- Choose line 10 for COUNTY TAX/FEE MAINTENANCE.
- Select CA – CALIFORNIA.
Update each County Fee when applicable.
*Also Smog Abatement Fee
Updating County Fees – ERA Ignite
- In the Accounting Main Page, open the dropdown System Tools and choose SPECS
- Select County Tax/Fee Maintenance
Aftermarket Product Maintenance – Include hard-adds in License Fee calculation
- In the Accounting Main Page, open the dropdown System Tools and choose SPECS
- Select Aftermarket Product Maintenance
- In the Type column, designate the product as a “HARD” add or “FALSE” add
