Terminal Security and IP Address Procedures
All stores should have “Enabled IP Address Security”, “Enable Terminal Security” and “Enforce Terminal Security” ed. The only reason this may be uned, is if a store is on a MiFi device issued by MVSC (you can this in the account notes).
· If a user has lost Efile, KSR or both; it could be that their terminal has become unregistered or they have a new IP address from recent changes to their network.
* Have the user hover over their name in the top right hand corner of their terminal (they must be logged into DMVdesk)
§ Once they have hovered over their name, a general information box will appear
§ Ask the user for their IP address shown
§ Before entering the new IP address given to you, please go to www.whatismyip.com to verify if the user is at the approved location.
· Select IP Lookup
· Enter the IP Address
· Once you have enter the IP address and select lookup, the user’s location will be displayed on a map and it should be in close proximity of the dealership’s location.
· Verify the Internet Service Provider (ISP)
* If everything matches, please update the IP address in the Billing System
§ Please see the note in the Security section of the MBR on how to enter the IP address formats.
· In order to approve the terminal ID, you will need to have the user submit a request via [email protected] (ticket will be created and used for tracking purposes).
* You will need to login as the DMVdesk Admin to approve their terminal
§ Make the user has ed the appropriate boxes (Efile, KSR or both).
· Do not disable terminal security at any time. If multiple users have called from the same location, and you feel there may be a larger issuer, then reach out for assistance.
* Tent Sales –temporary approved location offsite. When a dealership has a tent sale, we will turn off their terminal security for the period of time the tent sale will take place (only other exception).

*If there is a critical problem with DMVdesk where the system is down, or efiles remain in “Pending” status, DO NOT STOP trying to contact the above personnel.
