D138 ADDR FIELD MUST BE BLANK IF OUT STATE (owner_mail_address_state)
Why do I receive D138 error code?
Most likely the extend name box was used to extend the buyer name and the address was an out of state address. Lease vehicles need the extra space and out of state addresses need the extra space. When you extend the name, you take away the extra storage and the dmv error says it has to be blank. The only way to make that field blank is to shorten the name.
