Understanding Transfer Bonds in Bail Process.
What is a transfer bond and how does it work?
Understanding Transfer Bonds
A transfer bond is a type of surety bond that allows an individual who is in custody to be transferred from one location to another. The purpose of the bond is to ensure that the individual will appear at all scheduled court dates and comply with any other conditions set by the court.
How Transfer Bonds Work
When a transfer bond is issued, a bonding company agrees to pay the full amount of the bond if the individual fails to meet their obligations. This allows for individuals to be transferred between jurisdictions without having to remain in custody during the process.

Processing Your Bond
To process a bond for bonding documents, follow instructions provided in earlier shared links. The completed bond form, along with any required documentation, should be sent either SPU or Field Office for processing. If SPU cannot process it for any reason, they will forward it as a Walk-In request to Field Office.
