Registration Renewal Fees Error

The fees that were posted for your registration renewal were done in error by the DMV. We are currently working on getting those fees reversed so that you can proceed with renewing your registration. Vehicle Registration Issue in Nevada

Nicole was informed that she couldn't renew her vehicle registration in Nevada because the record showed a surrendered title, indicating a transfer of ownership. Due to a prior CA record on file, the transaction would need to be processed through the DMV field office or SPU. The system does not allow for re-registration but permits processing of a transfer instead.

Some common reasons include outstanding fees or penalties, unresolved citations or tickets, incomplete release of liability forms, or vehicle inspections that have not been completed.

Requesting Refund for Accidental Renewal

You may request a refund from the DMV for accidentally renewing your previous loaner vehicle registration by submitting an ADM 399 form along with a REG 256 explaining that it was renewed in error and providing the reason for your request. These documents can be sent to either the field office or SPU.
