Canceling vs. Filing E-File: Key Differences
What's the difference between hitting cancel on e-file and filing?
E-File Submission Help
Understanding E-File Process
When using the e-file system, it's important to differentiate between hitting cancel and filing a document:
- Cancel: Stops the submission process without filing the document.
- Filing: Completes the submission process and officially submits the document for processing.
Troubleshooting E-File Cancellation
If you are experiencing issues with e-file cancellation, follow these steps:
- Check for a green box showing DMV and KSR at the top right under your dealer name and your name.
- Look for a lock icon in red or green to determine if it is locked or unlocked.
- Hover your mouse over your name to ensure proper access.
E-File Invoice Transaction Information
To find processed e-file invoice transactions, look for Invoice #2837065 with the file date included. If you encounter a Q046 error indicating fees/RDF posted to the record, treat it as a RESUBMIT transaction type instead of CLEAR. Thank you!
Pending E-File Transactions Status Update
If there are pending e-file transactions that seem delayed, rest assured that they are progressing on their own. While there may be some intermittent slowness, once all pending items are processed, they will be bundled accordingly according to expectations. Thank you for your patience during this time!
