Understanding the 'Title Only' Process
Could someone please walk me through a 'Title Only' process?
Processing a Title Only: A Step-by-Step Guide
When you need to process a 'Title Only' for your vehicle, follow these straightforward steps to ensure everything is completed correctly.
Step 1: Enter Required Information
Begin by entering the necessary information as you would typically do when processing a title or transfer. Ensure that all details are accurate and complete before proceeding to the next step.
Step 2: Review Your Information
Once you have entered all required information, take a moment to review it carefully. This is crucial to avoid any mistakes that could delay the process.
Step 3: Select Planned Non-Operation (PNO)
At the bottom of the page, check the box labeled for Planned Non-Operation (PNO). By doing this, you'll trigger an additional dropdown menu in the optional information section.
Selecting Options from Dropdown Menu
- If No Renewal Due: Typically select "dealer inventory" from the dropdown menu if you're not within 90 days of renewal due.
- If Within 90 Days of Renewal: If your renewal date is approaching (within 90 days), choose "generate PNO fees." This option will apply several charges including:
- A transfer fee
- A PNO service fee
- POTENTIAL penalties if there are outstanding fines related to PNO service
Caution on Timing for Generating Fees
Please note that selecting “generate PNO fees” can only be done if it's within 90 days before or after your expiration date. Make sure you're aware of these timelines to avoid complications with your application.
